The device has a shorter drive shaft, which ensures better mobility in the forest and a greater power lever when cutting. The "handlebar" of the device has an innovative different shape than the version intended for trimming, which ensures better working techniques. The angle of inclination and rotation speed of the reducer have also been changed. 2-MIX engine and M-Tronic model with ErgoStart starter. STIHL FS 490 C-EMK is the latest M-Tronic 3.0 version.

In addition to the M-Tronic ignition module, there is also a control unit on the flywheel that constantly monitors the air pressure, fuel and air composition and engine temperature. The unit adjusts the fuel-air ratio of the ignition mixture accordingly. The engine always runs at optimal speeds according to the conditions. There is no need to manually adjust the carburetor. Thanks to a cleaner and more precisely regulated fuel mixture, the engine runs more economically, pollutes the environment less and has a longer service life. The engine is also automatically set to the starting position when starting.

The 4-point anti-vibration system ensures less vibration to the user's hands. Special steel anti-vibration springs and rubber vibration bushings are used. The brush cutter is sufficiently rigid when working, but at the same time the vibration is not transmitted to the user's hands.
